"I wanted to portray a dead man obtaining the chance to live again one last night."
During his time alive he does whatever he pleases, just like when he was among the livings. Never would have thought that we would one day be able to realize the clip. And I’m so proud of my brother Ramy Moharam Fouad who directed it perfectly. And of course immensely grateful to everyone involved.”
Cigar is the second track from Tamino’s self-titled EP, and the third track from his EP “Habibi”. Tamino went to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam and saw a painting of a skeleton smoking a cigarette: Skull of a Skeleton with a Burning Cigarette.  The image stuck with him, and he wrote a few lines, before coming up with a melody and finally the song. Cigaris not only about the painting, but it was its first inspiration.
If you googled the name Tamino a year ago, you were directed to a link about Die Zauberflöte, Mozart's opera in which a Tamino plays a leading role. If you now type in Tamino, you will see a long list of links that refer to the Flemish-Egyptian singer, who first conquered the Belgian club circuit from scratch, then the ether and has now also proven to silence a packed tent at Rock Werchter. Get on there, enrapture a crowd that has come to the festival with the intention of collectively indulge in beer, music and each other. He stood there alone with his guitar, angelic voice and about a dozen serious songs.
“Tamino moves, seduces and destroys Rock Werchter” headlined the Flemish quality newspaper De Morgen and awarded the performance with five stars. Fortunately, Tamino's magic turns out to work in the studio as well, as his debut single Habibi and new masterpiece Cigar show. When Bruce Springsteen's future manager was still a journalist and saw The Boss play for the first time, he wrote the legendary words "I've seen the future of rock 'n' roll and it's called Bruce Springsteen". We don't want to go that far, but the future of the Belgian rock scene looks even brighter thanks to Tamino.
